Penny (Silver, 19 mm, 1.02 g, 3 h), pointed helmet type, Edperd, London, 1024-1030. ✠CNVT RECX Λ Draped and cuirassed bust of Cnut to left, wearing pointed helmet and holding cross-tipped scepter in his right hand. Rev. EDPERD ON LVNDE Voided short cross with pellet at center, limbs united at base by two concentric circles; in each angle, broken annulet enclosing a pellet. SCBC 1158. A beautifully toned example with a fine portrait. Minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
